Passport applications are to be submitted in person either at the Embassy in Canberra, the Consulate General in Sydney or the Honorary Consulate in Melbourne and by prior appointment only.

New Zealand

Passport applications should be submitted in person at the Honorary Consulate in Auckland, and by appointment only. For contact details please click here.

In emergency situations please contact the nearest Consulate or Embassy. Additional fees will be charged outside normal office hours.

 

Honorary Consulates

Honorary Consulates in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji can issue extensions of passportsemergency passports and receive applications for passports for children under the age of 12. Applications are however strictly by prior appointment. Contact details can be found here.

 

The only Honorary Consulates in this region able to ALSO accept applications for passports for applicants over the age of 12 (when fingerprints are required for the passport) are the Honorary Consulates in Melbourne and Auckland (as explained above). 

 

To allow for lodgement and any potential issues with your child’s passport application, please ensure you lodge the application at least 3-4 weeks prior to your child turning 12.
