Advance voting for the municipal and regional elections on 18 November 2025
Vote in the Danish Local and Regional Elections on 18 November 2025 in Australia. Submit your vote by 20 October to ensure it arrives on time.
On Tuesday, 18 November 2025, elections will be held for municipal councils and regional councils in Denmark.
Danish citizens can now cast their postal vote at the Danish Embassy in Canberra or at the Danish consulates in Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji.
All postal votes must arrive at the relevant municipalities by 8:00 AM on election day, 18 November 2025, in order to be counted.
Votes are sent to Denmark by mail. To ensure the vote arrives on time, it should be submitted by 20 October 2025.
Votes submitted after this deadline; will still be accepted and forwarded to relevant municipality; however, we cannot guarantee they will arrive before election day.
You are eligible to vote if you meet the following criteria for postal voting abroad:
- You are 18 years of age or older,
- You have permanent residence in Denmark, and
- You are either a Danish citizen, a citizen of an EU member state, a citizen of Iceland, Norway, or the United Kingdom, or you have had continuous residence in the Kingdom of Denmark for the last 4 years leading up to election day.

Postal votes can be cast at the embassy in Canberra during opening hours: Monday to Friday from 10:00–12:00 and again from 13:00–15:00 (without prior appointment) .
Postal votes can be cast at the consulate in Sydney: Monday to Wednesday 12-13 and Thursday to Friday from 11-13 (without prior appointment).
Postal voting at the Danish Honorary consulates in Australien, New Zealand and Fiji only possible by prior appointment.
Please remember to bring valid photo identification (passport, driver’s license, or similar) when voting.
