Advance voting for the Danish Parliament Election on 24 March 2026

Vote in the Danish general election on 24 March 2026 in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji. Submit your vote by 9th of March 2026 to ensure it arrives on time.

 

On Tuesday, 24 March 2026, elections will be held for the Danish Parliament Election (Folketingsvalget).

Danish citizens can now cast their postal vote at the Danish Embassy in Canberra or at the Danish consulates in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.

Danish citizens can now cast their postal vote at the Danish Embassy in Canberra or at the Danish consulates in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.

All postal votes must arrive at the relevant municipalities by 8:00 AM on election day, 24 March 2026, in order to be counted.

Votes are sent to Denmark by mail. To ensure the vote arrives on time, it should be submitted by 9 March 2026. Votes submitted after this deadline; will still be accepted and forwarded to relevant municipality; however, we cannot guarantee they will arrive before election day.

You are eligible to vote if:

  • You are 18 years of age or older,
  • You have permanent residence in Denmark.
  • You are either a Danish citizen, a citizen of an EU member state, a citizen of Iceland, Norway, or the United Kingdom, or you have had continuous residence in the Kingdom of Denmark for the last 4 years leading up to election day.You can read more about voting rights for Danes living abroad on the website of the Danish Ministry of the Interior and Health.

Monday to Friday: 11:00–12:00 and 13:00–14:00 (no prior appointment required)

Please remember to bring valid physical identification, e.g. health insurance card, driver’s licence or passport.

Danish Consulate General - Sydney


Monday to Friday between 12:00–14:00 (no prior appointment required).

Extended voting hours are available at the Consulate in Sydney ONE DAY ONLY Thursday 5 March 2026 12pm-5pm (no prior appointment required).
